Our Approach
At Waypoint, we have been in your position. We know what it is like to receive a life-changing diagnosis and not know which way to go. We are here to partner with your family to create a roadmap to navigate towards the best possible outcome for your child and your family.
Our Step by Step Process
Step One: Contact a Care Consultant for a Free Consultation
From the moment you contact our office with questions, you will have access to one of our qualified care consultants who will personally walk you through each step of the process. Should you decide to partner with Waypoint for your child’s care, your Care Consultant will be your contact person for any questions and will be responsible for guiding you through this journey.
Step Two: Intake and Assessment
We want to establish a clear goal and direction from the very beginning of your care. A comprehensive evaluation will help us to identify the strengths and challenges of your child and family, and begin to make a plan. During intake, you will have an opportunity to share your concerns, as well as your hopes and goals for the future. Together, we will use those goals as a roadmap to help us to assess where we want to go and how we will get there. Intake and assessment may include:
- Meetings with parents and child
- Interviews with teachers or other caregiving professionals
- Classroom and/or in-home observation
- Diagnostic questionnaires or other assessment tools
Step Three: Treatment Planning Session
At Waypoint, we believe that parents are the most important members of the child’s therapy team. With our professional therapists and behavior analysts as partners, the team will use the assessments from intake to determine the best course of action and create a plan for success.
Step Four: Intervention and Treatment
Based on your goals, our therapists will create a treatment plan that fit your schedule and needs. Treatment will take place in your home or your child’s daycare or school, if applicable. We will also make every effort to provide therapy and care in all aspects of your life, including playdates, family outings, school functions, and other typical life events.
Step Five: Follow-Up and Training
We believe that consistent re-evaluation and training are essential to success for your child. Parents will be required to participate in ongoing training during treatment, as well as attend quarterly progress meetings where we will discuss successes and ongoing treatment needs.
Step Six: Discharge
The best path to success begins with an end in mind, and at Waypoint, our end goal is to work with you to the point that you no longer need our services. The final step in our overall plan is to meet your goals and discontinue treatment. As your treatment comes to a close, we will use our parent training and progress meetings to ensure that you have all the skills needed to continue what you and your child have learned successfully in the future. Your Care Consultant will always be available to you after discharge should you have any questions or need future care.
Rates and Insurance
We accept most major insurance companies. As a service to our clients, we will contact your insurance company and determine your level of benefits, as well as help you navigate your explanation of benefits. Our private pay rate is billed at $75 per hour.
